I was directed to this scripture as especially applying to modern spiritualism: Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Thousands, I was shown, have been spoiled through the philosophy of phrenology and animal magnetism, and have been driven into infidelity. If the mind commences to run in this channel, it is almost sure to lose its balance and be controlled by a demon. “Vain deceit” fills the minds of poor mortals. They think there is such power in themselves to accomplish great works that they realize no necessity of a higher power. Their principles and faith are “after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” {CCh 329.1}
Jesus has not taught them this philosophy. Nothing of the kind can be found in His teachings. He did not direct the minds of poor mortals to themselves, to a power which they possessed. He was ever directing their minds to God, the Creator of the universe, as the source of their strength and wisdom. Special warning is given in verse 18: “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.” {CCh 329.2} Read more
“Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). There are many in the Christian world who claim that all that is necessary to salvation is to have faith; works are nothing, faith is the only essential. But God’s Word tells us that faith without works is dead, being alone. Many refuse to obey God’s commandments, yet they make a great deal of faith. But faith must have a foundation. {FW 47.1}
God’s promises are all made upon conditions. If we do His will, if we walk in truth, then we may ask what we will, and it shall be done unto us. While we earnestly endeavor to be obedient, God will hear our petitions; but He will not bless us in disobedience. If we choose to disobey His commandments, we may cry, “Faith, faith, only have faith,” and the response will come back from the sure Word of God, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20). Such faith will only be as sounding brass and as a tinkling cymbal. In order to have the benefits of God’s grace we must do our part; we must faithfully work and bring forth fruits meet for repentance. {FW 47.2}
We are workers together with God. You are not to sit in indolence, waiting for some great occasion, in order to do a great work for the Master. You are not to neglect the duty that lies directly in your pathway, but you are to improve the little opportunities that open around you. . . . {FW 47.3}
This is a sermon by a Southern Baptist named Paul Washer. We are sharing this sermon with you, not because we endorse Southern Baptist Theology and doctrine but because The Holy Spirit is being poured out in preparation for the Lord Cry and many of us are unaware of how close we are to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This sermon bears witness and testifies to the signs of our time. The Spirit of Prophecy informs us that - “Unless we are daily advancing in the exemplification of the active Christian virtues, we shall not recognize the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain. It may be falling on hearts all around us, but we shall not discern or receive it.” Testimony to Ministers, p.507

This Sermon was preached at a Southern Baptist Youth Convention in 2005. God is indeed waking up and preparing His sheep which are not of the Seventh-day Adventist fold. Sincere Christians are searching their hearts and are eagerly involved in the process of sanctification. We need to reflect on our own condition and heed the warning of Revelation 3 to the seventh and final church. This type of revival outside our own church is warning to us.
1Peter 4:17 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
The Spirit of Prophecy cries unto unto as and warns us that The Loud Cry will be the only message left which will unite the Body of Christ from all denominations in preparation to meet our King. The Lord is keeping these members of the Body separate until we have been complete in our union with Christ. If these Christians are waking up, then that time is not far distant, and how do we as individuals stand before God? Not until we are in the Unity of faith found in Christ, will we as believers be ready for the return of Jesus.
“If the churches expect strength, they must live the truth which God has given them. If the members of our churches disregard the light on this subject [health reform], they will reap the sure result in both spiritual and physical degeneracy. And the influence of these older church members will leaven those newly come to the faith. The Lord does not now work to bring many souls into the truth, because of the church members who have never been converted and those who were once converted but who have backslidden. What influence would these unconsecrated members have on new converts? Would they not make of no effect the God-given message which His people are to bear?.… Brethren, we are far behind. Many of the things which the church should do in order to be a living church are not done… Our habits must be brought into conformity to the will of God. We are assured, ‘It is God which worketh in you,’ but man must do his part in controlling appetite and passion. The religious life requires the action of mind and heart in harmony with the divine forces. No man can of himself work out his own salvation, and God cannot do this work for him without his co-operation. But when man works earnestly, God works with him, giving him power to become a son of God” (Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, pp. 371, 372).
In short, this sermon is evidence that God is almost ready to return because He has been working to prepare a faithful people who have been practicing surrender. These Christians are daily being transformed in order to be clothed with the robe of Christ which fits them for the Marriage Supper of The Lamb. Brenthen and Sistren, are we as Seventh-day Adventists awake and ready for the Latter Rain of the Holy Spirit?
We firmly believe that the Seventh-day Adventist church is God’s end time church. We firmly believe that there will not be another church after the S D A church for there is no other church after Laodicea. What we are sharing here is simply a call to alertness as prophecy is being fulfilled. We are the chosen church of God but we are not all chosen people. “Many are called but few are chosen.” Romans 13:11-12 “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”
“For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians 2:9
It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross. — Desire of Ages p.83
Chris Buttery is a 1996 graduate of Hartland College with a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Evangelism. An Australian native, Chris previously served in the Ontario Conference in Canada, in one of the toughest fields in the western world, for seven years as a publishing assistant in the very important ministry of Literature Evangelism. Currently, he serves as a pastor of three churches in the Pennsylvania Conference. A deeply committed evangelist and sincere minister of the word, pastor Buttery is a true student of scriptures and reveals this through his God given gift of teaching and sharing a solid, Christ centered understanding of Righteousness by Faith as revealed in the Three Angels Messages.
Dr. Roger W. Coon is a retired former associate secretary of the Ellen G. White Estate. During the past four plus decades, he has served the Seventh-day Adventist Church as a preacher, pastor, evangelist, hospital chaplain, college and seminary professor, public relations director, radio broadcaster, foreign missionary, writer, and administrator. In this thoughtful presentation he tackles some of the tough questions and controversy surrounding the Spirit of Prophecy as revealed in the ministry of Ellen G White. Have Seventh-day Adventists been Honestly mistaken in their belief that the gift of prophecy has been revealed in the end time messages of Ellen G White or do the Biblical Tests of the true prophetic gift witness in favor of and vindicate the Spirit of Prophecy as authentic and of Divine origin?
“Every true preacher of God is a dead resurrector!”

More than 16,000 people have been baptized through Pastor Cleveland’s ministry and many churches have been planted as a result.
Dr. Cleveland not only believes but has demonstrated in his life that preaching God’s word through God’s power can raise the spiritually dead. H.K.W.H.T.A. (He Knows What He’s Talking About).
Honest Bible answers to questions asked by honest truth seeking souls during a powerful Crusade. Pastor Brooks shows that all the answers to the questions of our hearts are found in the Word of God. A superb resource for learning and witnessing the power of God’s word.
“We are living in the closing scenes of this earth’s history. Prophecy is fast fulfilling. The hours of probation are fast passing. We have no time—not a moment—to lose. Let us not be found sleeping on guard. Let no one say in his heart or by his works: “My Lord delayeth His coming.” Let the message of Christ’s soon return sound forth in earnest words of warning. Let us persuade men and women everywhere to repent and flee from the wrath to come. Let us arouse them to immediate preparation, for we little know what is before us. Let ministers and lay members go forth into the ripening fields to tell the unconcerned and indifferent to seek the Lord while He may be found. The workers will find their harvest wherever they proclaim the forgotten truths of the Bible. They will find those who will accept the truth and will devote their lives to winning souls to Christ.” {CCh 356.3}
Jeremiah and Aretha Davis are the Co-founders of Messengers of Light Ministry. They are end-time missionaries that have dedicated their entire life to ministry. They travel around the world presenting God’s Three angels messages. They are in the process of developing replicated outpost centers (which are missionary training centers located in retired country places) to reach the world and train workers from among God’s people to finish His work.
“The world is quickly coming to an end. Soon there will be no more opportunities to win souls. May God inspire His people around the world with His loving desire to save souls. We pray that we might be among God’s end-time missionaries that will help in the finishing of his work.”
“When the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.” Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. {COL 69.1}
It is the privilege of every Christian not only to look for but to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, (2 Peter 3:12, margin). Were all who profess His name bearing fruit to His glory, how quickly the whole world would be sown with the seed of the gospel. Quickly the last great harvest would be ripened, and Christ would come to gather the precious grain.” {COL 69.2}

“Perils now threaten the people of God; and what will they do? Can we not assist in lifting the standard, and in calling to the front those who have a regard for their religious rights and privileges? God calls us to awake; for the end is near. The prophecies that show us the closing scenes of earth’s history, are fast fulfilling. The time is fast approaching when we shall be made to feel the hand of oppression, because we demand our religious rights. Shall we then dishonor God by keeping silent, when his holy commandments are being trodden under foot? ” {HM, August 1, 1889 par. 1}

Western Youth Conference (WYC) is a regional conference organized by committed Seventh-day Adventist young adults from the greater Sacramento area for youth (ages 16-35) in the Western part of the United States. As leaders of WYC2008, we believe that “’something better’ is the watchword of education, the law of all true living.” We seek to direct the youth to “something better than display, ambition, or self-indulgence.” We seek to “bring them in contact with truer beauty, with loftier principles, and with nobler lives.” We believe that youth must be led “to behold the One ‘altogether lovely.’ When once the gaze is fixed upon Him, the life finds its center. The enthusiasm, the generous devotion, the passionate ardor, of the youth find here their true object. Duty becomes a delight and sacrifice a pleasure. To honor Christ, to become like Him, to work for Him, is the life’s highest ambition and its greatest joy.” Join us at WYC2008, from June 26-29, 2008 in Weimar, CA and learn about the “Something Better” that God has for you.
Mission Statement
WYC is an organization of Seventh-day Adventist youth and young adults in the western United States. We believe that the Lord is forming His army of workers in these last days and our prayer is that WYC would be a vessel through which Jesus Christ can reveal His will.
A thought based upon a couple of scriptures and a quote from the Spirit of Prophecy. There are many teachers and preachers who maintain their position of authority as instructors in the word of God, while making themselves unfit for the position because they fail to heed the message found in the Biblical teaching of the health message. Whether in willful ignorance or in direct conflict with the word of God, many refuse to take their position as the head and not the tail by following the counsel to live a life of a health reformer.This may seam hard and cutting but often truth makes it presence felt in just such a manner in order to arrest our attention. This is a solemn and important thought worthy of further study and the type of prayer found in 2 Chronicle 7:14.
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
James : 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Jeremiah 29:19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending [them]; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.
Failure to Practice Health Reform Disqualifies For the Ministry :
Why do some of our ministering brethren manifest so little interest in health reform? It is because instruction on temperance in all things is opposed to their practice of self-indulgence. In some places this has been the great stumbling block in the way of our bringing the people to investigate and practice and teach health reform. No man should be set apart as a teacher of the people while his own teaching or example contradicts the testimony God has given His servants to bear in regard to diet, for this will bring confusion. His disregard of health reform unfits him to stand as the Lord’s messenger. {CD 453.4}
The light that the Lord has given on this subject in His word is plain, and men will be tested and tried in many ways to see if they will heed it. Every church, every family, needs to be instructed in regard to Christian temperance. All should know how to eat and drink in order to preserve health. We are amid the closing scenes of this world’s history; and there should be harmonious action in the ranks of Sabbathkeepers. Those who stand aloof from the great work of instructing the people upon this question, do not follow where the Great Physician leads the way. “If any man will come after Me,” Christ said, “let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24. {CD 454.1}
Sanctify them through the Truth! Thy Word is Truth. John 17:17
Welcome to the FAITHFUL WITNESS. It is our intent that this website bears the reflection of our One and only Savior, Jesus Christ. We live in very important times as the soon return of Jesus is not far distant. It is our Divine Honor and privilege to prepare our lives, hearts and minds to represent Him to the World that they may turn to Him and prepare themselves to meet their God. Looking through the portals of time at our present day, the Apostle Peter ask "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conduct and godliness" 2 Peter 3:11. What we have before us is an opportunity. An opportunity to honor Jesus and bring Joy to the Heart of the Father by representing Him to the World! God is looking for a people He can trust to reveal His Holy Character through, that a fallen world might perceive the Love of God and turn to Him with all their hearts and be saved! It is our prayer that we may be a light to help this happen. May God bless you as you explore and seek after truth. Email us at contact@thefaithfulwitness.org

Reaping the Whirlwind by Joe Crews
"The true message to Laodicea will boldly declare that sins are being committed by the church members, and even by the institutions of the church. "Unless these evils which bring the displeasure of God are corrected in its members, the whole church stands accountable for them." Review and Herald, December 23, 1890"
Perspectives
"Truth is not what I believe. Truth is not even what I know. Truth is fact. I may not believe it. I may not know it. That does not change it. It is there nevertheless, waiting to be discovered and believed. Truth does not depend on the unsettled and changing opinions of men. It was truth before it was believed. It will remain truth whether it is believed or not." Carlyle B. Haynes, When a Man Dies, p. 9
