The Authorized King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Bible begun in 1604 and first published in 1611 by the Church of England. The Great Bible was the first “authorized version” issued by the Church of England in the reign of King Henry VIII.[2] In January 1604, King James I of England convened the Hampton Court Conference where a new English version was conceived in response to the perceived problems of the earlier translations as detected by the Puritans. The Puritans were a faction within the Church of England.
The king gave the translators instructions designed to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its beliefs about an ordained clergy. The translation was by 47 scholars, all whom were members of the Church of England. In common with most other translations of the period, the New Testament was translated from the Textus Receptus (Received Text) series of the Greek texts. The Old Testament was translated from the Masoretic Hebrew text, while the Apocrypha were translated from the Greek Septuagint (LXX)

The founder of the Breath of Life television ministry, Elder Brooks is well known among Seventh-day Adventists as an evangelist. His sermons are legendary and his tapes widely distributed. He held his first campaign in the early 1950s, while a pastor in Columbus, Ohio. After going on to be senior pastor of the Glenville Church in Cleveland, where he also held campaigns, Elder Brooks became a full-time evangelist for the Columbia Union Conference. In the summer of 1964 he led a major campaign in a large tent in Philadelphia during the “long, hot summer” of urban rioting, defied a plea from the mayor to shut down and still baptized nearly 300 people. He was elected an associate secretary of the General Conference Ministerial Association and from that platform has fearlessly preached the Adventist message around the globe. There are a number of Breath of Life congregations, church plants, and converted Christians resulting from his evangelism campaigns.

AudioVerse began as an idea by Tim Arakawa and Curtis Farnham in the Spring of 2005. It was spurred by increasing requests for sermon recordings from various ministries with which Tim and Curtis had been involved, including Advent HOPE Sabbath School, Restoration Ministry, and the Southwest Youth Conference. They were excited about this idea not only because it would fulfill the immediate need (and make less work for them!), but because they saw that these messages of hope, love, and the soon return of our Savior Jesus Christ, can be a blessing to people worldwide who are seeking knowledge and wisdom about God.
Nothing happened for several months due to their busy schedules. Then, at the Southwest Youth Conference meetings in August 2005, Tim brought up the idea again. Curtis decided it was time to put it to action and quickly began working on a sermon website. A contest was held at Advent HOPE Sabbath School to choose the name. Over 100 names were submitted. “AudioVerse” was the winner, submitted by Shane Lathrom of Hemet, CA. AudioVerse.org was launched on October 22, 2005.
Website traffic has grown tremendously, given the small amount of advertisting that has gone into it. In terms of all-time bandwidth consumed, it took 13 to 14 months to reach the first 500 Gigabytes of downloads. It took about 2 1/2 more months to double this. Toward the end of 2007, AudioVerse was providing 300-400 Gigabytes of downloads per month, which equates to 25-30,000 sermon downloads per month or 800-1000 downloads per day.
As this website has grown, we have had the opportunity to feature recordings in other languages than English. In an effort to make them more accessible, in Spring 2008, we began producing versions of AudioVerse in other languages such as Spanish.

Gospel Ministries International (GMI) began with a leap of faith. David Gates, president of GMI, felt God�s calling to serve the Davis Indians in the village of Kaikan in the interior of Guyana, South America. After much prayer, he left his job and paycheck as Computer Science teacher at Caribbean Union College in Trinidad and took his family of seven into the jungle, embracing God�s plan. Little did he know that in less than eight years Gospel Ministries International would have taken the good news of Jesus soon return to well over 100 million people.
GMI has been a completely faith-based organization from the start. David Gates and the GMI board and administrators manage GMI with a financial philosophy built on prayer and faith. No fundraising projects are undertaken, and no funds are explicitly solicited. Through this philosophy of simply making people aware of needs, and reaching out to God in prayer, GMI has grown in leaps and bounds.
Today GMI directs and supports medical aviation programs in Guyana, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Norway, reaching people in the interior with the gospel and emergency medical help. GMI maintains a total of 6 schools in Guyana, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Peru, providing basic education and industrial training to Adventists and non-Adventists alike.
GMI�s largest ministry is through 3 television networks (several more in development). The Advenir Spanish Television Network (ASTN) reaches the entire Spanish speaking world through satellite and cable networks in many areas. The Adevir Portuguese Television Network (APTN) will soon reach the entire Portuguese speaking world, and the Caribbean Family Network (CFN) is rebuilding to reach the Caribbean in Caribbean English and French. A new network broadcasting in Romanian is currently in development. The beautiful Christian family programming provided by these networks includes kids programming, soothing nature scenes, music videos, cooking shows, historical programs, and Biblical preaching.
GMI continues striving to fulfill God�s calling, providing help to those in need and sharing the wonderful news of our soon returning Jesus with those who have not yet heard.

Amazing Facts

Amazing Facts is an American radio program and media ministry founded in 1965 by Joe Crews in Baltimore, Maryland. Inspired by the success of The Rest Of The Story“, hosted by Paul Harvey, Crews’ original objective was to reach out to both Christian and non-Christian listeners via daily 15-minute programs by opening with an alleged scientific or historic fact, and how it applies to the overall Biblical messages. Later, the program offered accompanying home Bible study courses, as well as books written by Crews himself. In 1987, Amazing Facts initiated a television ministry. Shortly before his death in 1993, Crews invited Doug Batchelor to assume the position of President/Speaker, which he has held ever since. Today, the Amazing Facts radio program “Bible Answers Live” broadcasts mainly out of Sacramento, California each Sunday Evening to about 155 national stations. Amazing Facts has also opened a Center of Evangelism and commonly hosts seminars using the same presentation model.

Ministers and people have declared the prophecies of Daniel and John to be a collection of mysteries which no one could understand or explain. But the very title of the book of Revelation contradicts these assertions: “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to show unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John, who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein; for the time is at hand.”
Says the prophet, “Blessed is he that readeth”–there are some who will not read; the blessing is not for them. “And they that hear”–there are some, also, who refuse to hear anything concerning the prophecies; the blessing is not for this class. “And keep those things that are written therein”–many refuse to heed the warnings and instructions contained in the Revelation. None of these can claim the blessing promised. All who ridicule the subjects of the prophecy, and mock at the symbols here solemnly given,–all who refuse to reform their lives, and prepare for the coming of the Son of man, will be unblest.
In view of the testimony of Inspiration, how dare ministers teach that the Revelation is a mystery beyond the reach of human understanding? It is a mystery revealed, a book opened. The study of the Revelation directs the mind to the prophecies of Daniel, and both present most important instruction, given of God to men, concerning events to take place at the close of this world’s history.
To John were opened scenes of deep and thrilling interest in the experience of the church. He saw the position, dangers, conflicts, and final deliverance of the people of God. He records the closing messages which are to ripen the harvest of the earth, either as sheaves for the heavenly garner or as fagots for the fires of the last day. Subjects of vast importance were revealed to him especially for the last church, that those who should turn from error to truth might be instructed concerning the perils and conflicts before them. None need be in darkness in regard to what is coming upon the earth.
Why, then, this wide-spread ignorance concerning an important part of Holy Writ? Why this general reluctance to investigate its teachings? It is the result of a studied effort of the prince of darkness to conceal from men that which reveals his deceptions. For this reason, Christ the Revelator, foreseeing the warfare that would be waged against the study of the Revelation, pronounced a blessing upon all who should read, hear, and observe the words of the prophecy.
The Bible was designed to be a guide to all who wish to become acquainted with the will of their Maker. God gave to men the sure word of prophecy; angels and even Christ Himself came to make known to Daniel and John the things that must shortly come to pass. Those important matters that concern our salvation were not left involved in mystery. They were not revealed in such a way as to perplex and mislead the honest seeker after truth. Said the Lord by the prophet Habakkuk, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” The word of God is plain to all who study it with a prayerful heart. Every truly honest soul will come to the light of truth. “Light is sown for the righteous.” No church can advance in holiness unless its members are earnestly seeking for truth as for hid treasure.

Western Youth Conference (WYC) is a regional conference organized by committed Seventh-day Adventist young adults from the greater Sacramento area for youth (ages 16-35) in the Western part of the United States. As leaders of WYC2008, we believe that “’something better’ is the watchword of education, the law of all true living.” We seek to direct the youth to “something better than display, ambition, or self-indulgence.” We seek to “bring them in contact with truer beauty, with loftier principles, and with nobler lives.” We believe that youth must be led “to behold the One ‘altogether lovely.’ When once the gaze is fixed upon Him, the life finds its center. The enthusiasm, the generous devotion, the passionate ardor, of the youth find here their true object. Duty becomes a delight and sacrifice a pleasure. Mission Statement
The Straight Testimony Ministries believes there is a grand and solemn work to enlighten all people in regard to the times in which we live. We strive to do this because the Bible promises; we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11). God is calling on someone to cry aloud and spare not, to bear sacred and vital truths. We endeavor by the power of the Holy Spirit to answer that call with a message that not only exalts the Christian standard, but also finds its way to the heart and arouses people to self examination. Ultimately, the Straight Testimony Ministries seeks to declare Christ, His commandments, His crucifixion and His coming. If we are faithful in proclaiming the everlasting gospel, God will make darkness light before the people and crooked things straight (Isaiah 42:16).

Eugene Prewitt was raised largely in Alaska. There, at 12 years of age, he surrendered to Gods call on his life and began a life-long intense study of the scriptures. Later, in secondary school (Oklahoma Academy), he began the two activities that have come to characterize his life: teaching and canvassing.
Currently Brother Eugene teaches various classes at Ouachita Hills College, mostly in the fields of history, Bible, and canvassing. He and his wife Heidi (they married in 2005), travel extensively leading canvassing teams, and lecturing at churches and youth conferences.
His associations with audioverse.org and the Generation of Youth for Christ have brought his teachings within the reach of an ever growing audience. For this he is thankful, taking consolation in the fact that where the Bible has been planted a sure and holy harvest will be reaped.
Eugene Prewitt writes: I want to know what is true. I am almost always studying several Bible themes, and I write as part of my method of study. That is how this collection of documents has come into existence. May these studies be a blessing to anyone confronting the same questions and issues in their life that I have confronted in mine.

We are a group of lay Adventist church members from San Diego who feel a strong burden to spread the Three Angels Messages locally and beyond. We strongly support the mission and fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and seek to uphold the standards of the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. This ministry was formed in January of 2008 and since then we’ve been working and praying hard to do the Lord’s will. Click here for our list of current leaders.
Calling ourselves “The Living Wave,” we hope to encourage lay people to participate in evangelism by spreading the gospel through personal witnessing, small group Bible studies, weekend revivals, and larger scale evangelistic series. Recognizing the urgency of the time in which we live, we pray that God will pour out His Spirit so that we can become a positive Godly influence in San Diego and beyond.

Generation of Youth for Christ (GYC), formerly General Youth Conference, is a grassroots Adventist movement organized and led by young adults from diverse backgrounds.
Through the networking, communication, and organization provided by GYC, young people are encouraged to experience revival and reformation and to work hand in hand with the Seventh-day Adventist church in taking the Three Angels’ Messages to the world in this generation.
GYC’s new website is now online, as you can see. We are working hard to make every section of the website functional.
